Though, the glee some of the speakers/residents take in the murder is absolutely frightening. This five-part docu-series investigates the unsolved murders of eight women in and around Jennings, Louisiana. A gritty drama about the resilience of the human spirit as seen through the lens of talented artists and musicians who are forced to survive and find inspiration on the hard streets of Detroit in the wreckage of post-industrial America. I live with about three hours of this town, so this documentary was intriguing to me. Why weren't those terrorized by McElroy interviewed? I have to say, what a waste of a town. I think when the bully was executed on the street, that the better behaved and more sophisticated of the town in general vacated the area, and the low real estate cost brought in the rif-raf to then manufacture meth and exist in tandem in general, and I believe this caused a higher than usual percentage of criminally minded persons which then bred the new culture/envronment of the town. This gripping true crime mini-series examines the unsolved and mysterious death of McElroy, now considered one of the most infamous acts of vigilantism in American history, and explores the corrosive ripple effects of violence in small-town America. Any witnesses to the original crime will soon be dead. But I'm glad I watched it. The one lady who seems very nice and intelligent stated she loves it in that town. The producers, as all media seem to do now, give a one-sided relocation of McElroy being shot.

But I'm old enough to remember it and have seen the change in people since then, and people do not put up with crap like they used to. It covers one incident, the murder of a man by an entire town.
