The only thing that holds me back is the cost of 327 ammo and that I would properly have to have two more types of ammo ( 327 and 32SW long) to stock. Against bears, I would load the Buffalo Bore 180-grain loading, or one of my own handloads using a hard cast 175-grain SWC. Will try additional brands of ammo. Nothing but probs with Sig brand .38 spec’l ammo. To me, this is a significant enough reliability issue to avoid using Blazer Brass ammo in any of my guns. A hot 125-grain JHP was hard on small parts and sometimes the shooter as well. For many years, the majority of qualifications were done with the .38 Special 148-grain target wadcutter.

With proper load selection, the GP100 makes an excellent all around defense revolver.For protection against the big cats and feral dogs, I cannot imagine a better choice.

Improperly seated primer, backed out primer, unburnt powder jamming stuff up.....sound to me like the most likely culprit. I really want to know why other revolver makers do not have this issue with their 7-shot revolvers, but Ruger does? The new seven-shot revolver is certain to be popular.
