I really like using 2400 for shooting hot loads, I use 17.2 grains pushing a 125-grain JHP in my GP-100 .357 Magnum (I call them “Elmer Keith Memorial Rounds” :). GS 125 BJHP round clocks at 1358 fps. I like a 125 gr. Looking at them on their website they appear to be different than the usual plated bullets as there’s a distinct seam at the base of the bullet. (Note: These are near maximum loads, you should use 10% less to start. I don't think it's very good for .357 Mag, mainly because it doesn't meter well. You'll notice we didn't date any of that data from the powder manufacturers, so some of it may be quite old, not that it should make any difference. I bumped the load up 2/10s of a grain from the 6.5 of Hodgdon HP-38 listed for the starting load for the 140. Just a suggestion. Starting load of 6.4 grs. 44 S&W Special. 45 Colt. The 358402 (120 gr) lists 9.4 gr of Unique as the max load in.357 Mag. If a shooter is looking for light to medium loads for a .357, it is more cost effective to work them up with cast bullets instead of jacketed.
